City of Mitcham Sustainable Home Rating and Incentive Scheme

The City of Mitcham has introduced the Rating and Incentive Scheme to encourage and promote the design and construction of residential homes that are environmentally superior. The scheme focusses on energy and water use.
Council is making available thirty (30) incentive payments of $400 for applicants who achieve the required number of points in the design and construction of a new detached dwelling in the City of Mitcham.
For each criterion a range of options and associated scores are provided. The words below are used to give an indication of performance:
Green--Exceptional environmental performance
Good--Good environmental performance
Standard--Equivalent to standard practice

Who is eligible to apply for the Sustainable Home Rating and Incentive Scheme
The voluntary incentive scheme is applicable to single residential dwellings (including townhouses). Property owners in the City of Mitcham who have received planning and building approval for their new homes between 1 February 2006 and 1 February 2007 can apply.
Refer to the Terms and Conditions for more details.

House Energy Rating Logo

At House Energy Rating we perform NatHERS and FirstRate ratings on domestic buildings. We ensure that the building is in compliance with the Building Code of Australia's Energy Efficient requirements.

We perform simulated shading diagrams with the daily and yearly sunlight on your existing or potential dwelling ensuring the maximum winter warmth and shading during the height of summer.

HER can assess the solar performance of a dwelling, factoring in shading and looking at the internal temperatures throughout the year and comfort levels within the building.

A simulation can be provided of a commercial building including materials, lighting and climate location giving a total amount of energy used and ways to reduce energy usage.
